What is Camping Key Europe (CKE)?

Camping Key Europe is an international organisation, which is owned by the ANWB. This organisation issues a camping card of the same name in both card and digital format. The CKE card is now sold in a total of 17 European countries through a partner network, and there are a million cardholders who make use of the advantages presented by the card. The camping card has various functionalities; it offers discount at campsites, and works as a replacement identity card at campsites and for damages caused at the campsite or in the rental accommodation, the included third party insurance provides cover for your entire travelling party (max. 6 people).

How do I obtain a CKE card?

The CKE card is available in many European countries. Look on the website at ‘Where can I buy Camping Key Europe?’ to see where the point of sale (partner) of the card is located in your country. Most partners issue a plastic card, in some instances, a digital card is offered. The price for the card can vary per country, the recommended price however is approx. €15.00

What is the delivery time of the CKE card?

The CKE card is offered in many European countries via a partner network. The delivery time will therefore vary per partner. If you wish to find out what the delivery time for the card is, then contact the point of sale (partner) in your country. I am going on holiday, but I haven’t received my CKE card yet. What do I do?

The CKE card is offered in many European countries via a partner network. Have you ordered the CKE card, but not received it yet? If so, then contact the point of sale (partner) in your country. The contact details can be located on the website at ‘Where can I buy Camping Key Europe?’.

How long is the CKE card valid for?

The camping card is valid for one year. The expiry date is featured on the card, and your CKE card is valid until that date. With a number of partners in the network, you take out a subscription and with some partners, you purchase a card that expires automatically after one year. In the case of a subscription, you will automatically be sent a new card by the partner from whom you purchased the card. Naturally, this information will be provided for you at the time your card is sold to you. Check that the card is valid before you go on holiday. If your card is expired, you will no longer be able to use the discount of the card, or use it as a replacement identity card.

Can I use my partner’s CKE card?

The CKE card is personalised, as it can also be used as a replacement identity card. The owner of the card must be present with the accompanying travelling group, and only in those instances will the campsite grant any discount, and only in those instances will the card be accepted as a replacement identity card.

What do I need to do in the event of theft or loss of my card?

Get in touch with the partner from the network where you purchased the card.

Can I also opt for a digital version of the CKE card?

Because the CKE card is also valid as a replacement identity card and is often collected by the staff at the campsite, the card is issued as a plastic card by most of the partners. However, some partners issue a digital card. Enquire with the partner in your country about the possibilities (view the contact details on the site at ‘Where can I buy Camping Key Europe?’).

What benefits do I have at campsites with my CKE card?

With the CKE card, you can enjoy advantages at some 2800 campsites throughout Europe. The campsites can offer various benefits, such as: a fixed low rate in the off-peak season on pitches, discount percentages on pitches in the peak season, discount percentages on rental accommodation in the peak and off-peak season, and special offers.

How can I make use of my CKE discount at campsites?

Always report in advance when you’re making your reservation (either verbally or in writing) that you own a CKE card. Enquire when booking whether you are entitled to a discount and verify the rate when checking in at the campsite, in order to prevent nasty surprises when you leave. Are you arriving at the campsites without making a booking in advance, so without prior arrangements? If so, then also state when checking in that you own a CKE card, and enquire whether you are entitled to a discount.

Is the CKE rate valid at all kinds of camping pitches?

CKE discount rates and other offers have been provided to us by the campsites themselves. They are basically valid for standard camping pitches, and do not always apply for all (types of) pitches and rental accommodation. Do you want to make certain that the discount rate is applicable for the camping pitch you’ve selected?
If so, then make sure you enquire about this when checking in.

What should I do if the details on my passport or identity document are not on the card?

Where can I find all of the campsites where I can use the card as a replacement identity card?

The campsites that will the accept the card as a replacement identity card on this site can be viewed by clicking on ‘Search CKE campsites’ at the top right, or by using the search bar on the homepage. Naturally, you can also ask the reception of the campsite when checking in whether they will accept the card as a replacement identity card.

Third party insurance

At which campsites do I have third party insurance cover through my CKE card?

As a CKE holder, you have third party insurance cover at all of the campsites, as this is issued in the name of the individual, and is not linked to the campsites taking part in the CKE programme.
